BetNova Alberta Review

BetNova is the Alberta brand of Goldrush Alberta Limited, part of the Goldrush Gaming Group. The AiGC approved-sites directory has listed BetNova Sportsbook & Casino since 14 October 2026, operated by Goldrush Alberta Ltd., and the AGLC registrant list carries Goldrush Alberta Limited. The site's own Terms and Conditions, last updated June 2026, state that the company is registered in Canada with its registered address in Edmonton and is, in the operator's words, "licensed and regulated" by the AGLC under licence No. 120417, operating under its agreement with Alberta iGaming Corporation. On this site we say registered.

The Alberta site at playbetnova.ca runs a casino lobby with slots and live dealer tables and a sportsbook with live betting and esports. The published Betting Rules cover 21 sports, from soccer and ice hockey to darts and kabaddi, and name no leagues in their headings; depth per sport is not verified here. Only players physically located in Alberta may use the service (Terms 2.3), and from Germany the site shows a "not accessible from your location" page. The App Store and Google Play listings are for Ontario ("19+ in Ontario") and name no Alberta entity, so they are recorded as checked, not cited.

Banking, from the Terms: the account currency is Canadian dollars; deposits by Interac or credit card carry no fee from BetNova; the minimum deposit is CAD 10 and the minimum withdrawal $10; withdrawals go back to the deposit method under a closed-loop rule and are processed internally within up to five business days; winnings are capped at $150,000 per day. The public site publishes no list of payment methods — the FAQ points to the Banking section of a logged-in account — and no arrival times by method.

Support runs around the clock by live chat and phone on an Alberta number, plus email. Complaints get a written acknowledgement and an initial reply within 48 hours, an outcome within 90 days, and can be escalated to Alberta iGaming Corporation or the AGLC free of charge (Terms 27).

Player protection: deposit, loss and turnover limits for 24 hours, 7 days or a month, with a 24-hour cooling-off before any increase; a Break in Play from one day to three months; self-exclusion for six months, one year or five years; participation in the AGLC's centralized self-exclusion program at selfexclusion.ca. The Responsible Gambling page names 211 Alberta and Alberta Gamblers Anonymous among its resources.

What we found wrong on the site itself: the Responsible Gambling page tells players they must be 19 or older, which is Ontario's age, while the Terms and the About page say 18 for Alberta; the FAQ's geolocation section still describes iGaming Ontario checks and an error for playing "outside the province of Ontario"; and the Terms point readers to betnova.ca addresses, which is the operator's Ontario site. The Terms also carry a template placeholder where the licence date should be, and the footer and the Terms give two different company registration numbers. None of this touches a player's money. It does tell you the Alberta copy was lifted from Ontario and not fully edited.
